Protected Trust Services has confirmed it is working with agency boss David McDonald to take on three of his World Travel Lounge branches and a tour operator brand.

The news follows Hays Travel North West’s acquisition of two other World Travel Lounge stores in Preston and Blackpool in October

PTS will acquire the World Travel Lounge stores, currently trading as Book In Style in Cleveleys, Fleetwood and Leyland, as well as luxury operator Odisea.

The shops, which were acquired by World Travel Lounge in summer 2020, will now trade under NW Travel.

PTS confirmed World Travel Lounge’s remaining branches and its LGBT+ specialist tour operator Chillimix were no longer members as of Friday (20 January).

TTG has contacted World Travel Lounge for more information on its plans for the other stores and Chillimix.

Daniel Landen, chief executive of PTS, said the group had been working with McDonald on taking over the branches and operator “for some time”.

“As Protected Trust Services hold all the bookings through the CRM system the handover of all consumers to date is simple and we can confirm that all consumers will be travelling,” said Landen.

“All suppliers have been notified and NW Travel look forward to working with our trade partners in the future.”

The news follows Wrexham-based Hays Travel North West’s acquisition of two World Travel Lounge stores in Preston and Blackpool last October.
